The blue line: data project

The Blue Line is a visual research project that translates observational data from Newark’s inner-city light rail system into a dot-based language. Across a 5x7" spiral-bound booklet, colored dots mark categorized sightings, clothing, accessories, and recurring details, scattered in a way that mirrors how connections form naturally between commuters. The format echoes my own note-taking process: layers build, ink bleeds through pages, and patterns begin to reveal themselves across stations.

The same system expands into a vertically cohesive series of three 18x24" posters, where the data becomes more structured and navigable.

Here, the visual language shifts from intimate documentation to public facing clarity, creating an accessible map of shared routines, & community in motion.
